A Trip to Jiu Fen - Part 2 (Food)

Our dinner........Mmmmmmm yummy!!!!!

Baked cheese rice.......Excellence

Black pepper beef rice.......not bad

Steamboat for 2.......still have room for improvement
Food at old streets...............

This funny aunty sells her taiwan "hotdog" with such interesting costume everyday. If you want to know her "original appearance" then you have to wait until she closes her shop. You can find lots of unique and weird food at her stall. Such as "墨鱼" ice cream.

This is one type of snails. 3 snails cost NT50. I think it is awful but we still buy it and have a try. There is no harm to try something new. Surprisingly it tastes good!

On our way back to hostel.......we manage to find a beef noodle shop to fill up our empty stomach.....it is deliciuos but a bit too salty. Just a little advice.....make sure you order the right food.....there are difference between 牛肉面(beef noodle) and 牛肉汤面(beef noodle soup). For Malaysian, they are the same but not in Taiwan. If you just order 牛肉汤面(beef noodle soup), what you can get from the bowl are noodle and soup......NO BEEF!!!!! So becareful, whenever you want to order beef noodle.....make sure you really order beef noodle.....not beef noodle soup.

A Trip to Jiu Fen

This is our first "ovenight" trip in Taiwan. I have made a few research online searching for budget accommodation. At last I have found one which is located at the centre of Jiu Fen. It costs us approximately RM35 per night/person. Guess what! after knowing that we are students, the friendly lady boss from Vietnam upgrades our room by adding extra RM10 ~ a room with a view (3 queen beds and with air-con too!!!!!). However it only happens once in a blue moon (cause there are no customers during our visit to Jiu Fen). Wow! What a lucky trip!

We find something very interesting at the motel......they have spelled the word "CHECK" wrongly. Instead of check in / check out......they have printed it as "chick in / chick out". Ha! we really have a good laugh after reading this notice.
If you really want to runaway from the busy city or stress workload....this is a good place to release your "trash" which you have accumulated for a long time. Actually this is only a peaceful, simple small town. You can find lots of local food at the old streets. We just wander around without worrying that we will be lost.....ha! I think it is quite interesting to explore a new place with such relaxing mood. However, youngsters may find it boring because there are no excitement in this town.
All the shops in Jiu Fen will be closed at 8pm. If you decide to stay overnight at Jiu Fen, make sure you have your dinner before 8pm. Luckly we still manage to find a restaurant to settle our dinner. The food are quite expensive at Jiu Fen. It is difficult to find budget food at this tourism spot. The night view at Jiu Fen is spectacular. Just imagine whenever you wake up in the morning, you can see such beautiful scenery and with refreshing air.......Mmmm......life is so wonderful.

"Life is not about how many breath you take, it is about how many moments that take your breath away".
We meet a japanese guy at the motel. He is only 20 years old. Wow so young!!!! A big Thumb up for him because he can't even speak madarin but still has the courage to explore Taiwan by himself. It is very difficult to communicate with him. He is neither good in Mandarin nor in English. However, we manage to communicate with one another by using sign language. If I'm not mistaken, his name should be Kyoto. Keep it up, Kyoto!
